Change Administrator Password - Windows Vista GADGET Version
|

The Change Administrator Password utility (CAP.gadget) is a
Microsoft Windows Vista Gadget that will assist you in changing the password on the loacal administrator account on all the machines
in a particular Active Directory organization unit (OU). The gadget has a drop down menu that allows you to choose the domain and
target OU to find all computers (in that OU) and change the password on the local Administrator account.

INSTRUCTIONS
- Download the file cap-gadget.zip to your local drive on your Windows Vista computer
- Unzip the contents of this file
- Double click the file: CAP.gadget
- Choose INSTALL
- Enter a password in both fields on the gadget screen
- Click the [Validate Password] button (this confirms you entered the SAME password in both fields)
- The gadget will now display a drop down menu for domains and OU's
- Choose the target domain
- Choose the target OU
- Click the [Change Password] button
Other Instructions
- Hover over the gadget with your mouse and click the WRENCH icon to show settings page
- The settings page allows you to view or delete the log file
- The log file is a running log of all attempts to change the local admin password
- Click [View Log] to see the log file results
- Click [Clear Log] to delete the log file
- Click [OK] or [Cancel] to close the settings page

- Microsoft Windows Vista Machine
- Administrative rights on the local machine
- Administrative rights on target machines
- Active Directory domain
- Active Directory organizational units
